Palace to participate in this summer's Como Cup! - News

Crystal Palace will participate in the second edition of the Como Cup in late July, as part of their pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 season.

Off the back of sealing a European trophy in the club’s first-ever continental campaign, the Eagles will soar to Italy’s picturesque Lake Como to take part for a pre-season tournament between Tuesday 28th July and Saturday 1st August, taking on sides from six different nations.

AlUla SC (Saudi Arabia), Como 1907 (Italy), FC Famalicão (Portugal), Racing Club de Lens (France) and Villarreal CF (Spain) have also all been confirmed to participate.

Palace will play two 45-minute matches, as well as a guaranteed third match (which will be 90 minutes – either the final, or a placement match).

Fixture details, venues and kick-off times will be announced soon, with ticketing information to follow. Palace matches will also be streamed LIVE on Palace TV+.

What is the Como Cup?

The Como Cup is the headline event of Football On The Lake – a summer festival which brings football, music, food, culture and supporters together on the shores of the beautiful Lake Como.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps, and Italy’s most iconic lake, the region itself becomes a hub for clubs, visitors and supporters from around the world.

A popular Fan Village and a wider festival programme – including live music, culinary showcases, pop-ups and experiences, and cultural events – aims to make Como a summer destination for the global game.

Last year, on the pitch, the inaugural edition of the Como Cup saw Ajax, Celtic and Al Ahli compete alongside, with the hosts, Como 1907, defeating the Dutch side 3-0 in the final.

This year, fresh from their first taste of European glory, Conference League winners Palace will look to step up their pre-season preparations ahead of 2026/27 by taking on some of the most exciting teams on the continent.

These include Champions League qualifiers Como – who are managed by Cesc Fabregas, and who finished fourth in Serie A; Villarreal, who finished third in La Liga; and this season’s Coupe de France winners and Ligue 1 runners-up, Lens.
