The decision follows a successful run for our Academy sides this season, including reaching our first-ever Under-18 Premier League Cup Final against Manchester United at Selhurst Park (Wednesday, 22nd April, 19:00 GMT) and our first FA Youth Cup semi-final in almost 30 years, also against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Combined with commitments in the U18 Premier League South and rescheduled league fixtures resulting from these cup runs, there is no opportunity to take part in the tournament.
Palace had been set to make their debut in the Dallas Cup’s elite Gordon Jago Super Group, joining 11 other leading academies from across the world – an opportunity the club was excited to be part of.
Founded in 1980, the tournament is the oldest international youth competition in the United States and has a long-standing connection with English football.
We wish all participating teams every success and apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause to supporters, particularly those who had planned to follow the team in America.
